Terry ANGUS was last year was voted by the conference strikers in the non league paper as the hardest defender to play against. He started his career at VS Rugby, he was soon captured by the Cobblers where he made no less than 116 league appearances. He left Northampton to join Fulham where he also made numerous first team appearances. He joined Slough Town shortly after leaving Fulham. In July 1998 he signed for Boro and has since established him self in the side.  BURRY must be considered to be one of the most prolific names in non-league football. Born in 61, this well known figure has had no less than a 20 year spell in non-league football which makes him one of the giants. When Phillips was sacked last year, Burr took over temporary charge and has never looked back after being handed the job. BREWNO otherwise known as Paul Everard when out of costume, last year took part along with many other mascots from around the country, in memorial performance. This laugh about anything kind of guy has to have a sense of humour as last year, he found him self-having to fork out for a new head which was required. Whether or not he got a new head will be revealed this season and whether or not he paid will be one of lifes little mystery. Darren BULLOCK started his career at Worcester City, before joining Redditch. He then signed for Malvern Town before joining Boro in Jul 1992. He won the Midland division championship and the Birmingham senior cup while at Boro before joining Huddersfield Town in November 93 for 60k. While at Boro he made 65 appearances scoring 27 goals. After Huddersfield he played for various league clubs like Bury and also made appearances for Rushden and Diamonds.
 Boro rejoined the CONFERENCE in the 99/00 season. Since then they have been finishing mid table and are unable to find the magic which got Nuneaton so close all those years ago. Paul CULPIN was a true Boro legend. This prolific goal scorer had two spells at Manor Park. His first was in the mid-eighties, where he came runner up in the conference twice in two consecutive season with the Boro. He then left to play for Cov, before making appearances with Northampton Town, Peterborough, and Hereford. Her returned in April in 92 and scored 55 goals in his first season back at Manor Park, which set a new club record. He is also the clubs leading goalscorer with 190 of them to his name.
 Richard DIXEY was an uncompromising central defender of a very high standard. He cost the Boro 9,500 when he signed from Scarborough in March 1981. His career at Manor Park lasted 8 strong years each one of which stronger than the last. He made 313 appearances and netted 13 times. He collected a championships medal in 1982, and two runner up medals in 1984-85. He had two spells as caretaker manager and won Manager of the Month in April 85. He left Boro to join local rivals Atherstone in 88 but he left his best days behind him at the Boro.  Planning permission for ELIOT PARK was put in and the Boro seemed very optimistic about being given the go ahead. Since then the council have rejected it and Boro are looking to take the matter further. The site, nest to the hospital on the A444 seemed perfect and with good access which could have been made even better boro fans were on a high. But the council have gave two main reasons to why they rejected it, One, was that it would cause some harm and unpleasantness to the local residents, and two, they were not happy with the main access route being near to the hospital and it being congested. Boro have handed in the new ground appeal and Boro Online will keep you updating on what is happening. Boro were FORMED in 1937 from the ashes of the town club. In 1990 the club faced many problems and was forced to close, the club re-formed in 1991 and has been going from strength to strength ever since. Les GREEN was arguably the best goalkeeper to ever wear the Boro shirt. This extravagant goalkeeper who played at Manor Park in the sixties will never be forgot among the Boro fans. Richard HILL played for Boro during the two season that they came runners up in the Conference. Hill was a battling midfielder, who was renowned for his excellent shooting ability. When Graham Carr went and managed Northampton Town he took Hill with him. Since then he has returned to the conference but as manager of Stevenage Borough. As far as I know he is currently job less after his sacking lasts season      Marc MCGREGOR joined Boro in the pre-season, last year for a record breaking 35,000! The young semi-pro England international netted 13 league goals last season despite injuries and of course he also scored the 90th minute winner against the Potters to see Boro through to the second round of the FA cup. Boro have been playing at MANOR PARK since day one. Despite not contending for best ground in the conference its home to the Boro faithful and looks set to be for many years. Recently Manor Park has seen a bit of glory and glamour. Sky television have visited Boro very recently back in November when they beat stoke 1-0 in the replay of the first round of the FA cup. A little further back in time we have the Bournemouth game down at Manor Park back in December 93, where Boro made and exit from in the FA cup in the second round.
Nuneaton parish church formed Nuneaton St Nicholas, which later became Nuneaton Town before forming Nuneaton Borough. Club NAMES, weve had many. Brendan PHILLIPS is a well-known figure in non-league football for both his playing and managerial career. He was in charge of the Boro for 4 seasons before he was sacked in October 2000. The former England semi-professional midfielder gained promotion for Boro from the Dr Martens league last season, with an amazing 23-point lead at the top of the table. The former Bedworth Utd boss is now managing Halesowen Town. Tony SIMPSON joined Boro from Grantham Town in October 1989.He began his career at Nottingham Forest and played almost 200 games for the club. Wayne SIMPSON, who last year left the club when his contract expired was a personal favourite of mine. So far this season, despite having a solid defence we have no replacement for this naturally talented defender. Boro beat both SWANSEA and STOKE in 1993 and 2000. They advanced to the second round of the FA cup where they met Bournemouth both times
To the Manor Reborn! This reliable and humorous Fanzine, published and edited by Nick Lane is the only fanzine we have at Manor park and it would be nice to see a bit of rivalry. TTMRB is published every 8 or so games through out the season, and as it says in each issue, it is the voice of Boro fans. Bobby VINCENT In November 1974, he was involved in a tragic road accident, which left his thigh shattered in two places. At the time Bobby was possibly the most lethal goal scorer in the Southern league premier. Three years after the tragedy Bobby had re-established him self in the side. The season after that he had was considered a god by the Manor Park faithful. His last season there he helped win Boro the Birmingham senior cup and finished leading goalscorer before departing for Leamington. He scored 72 goals for Boro despite all the injuries he had encountered.
Barry WILLIAMS started his career with Cambridge Utd, and made appearances for Ely City while he was there on loan. Unable to break into the Cambridge first team he looked elsewhere. He had spells with Alverchurch and Redditch Utd before joining Boro in the summer of 95. He has made 200 first team appearances. |
