MACCA JOINS WOLVES: Boros free scoring striker Marc McGregor has joined Wolverhampton Wanderers on a weeks trial where he will be looking to impress various coaches in order of his joining the West Midland club.

BORO SOLD TO LONDON BASED BUYER: Moments before Boro kicked off for their tough battle against Northwich, news passed round the changing rooms that the Boro had seen sold to an anonymous southern based buyer. It is believed many members of the staff will be released in a cost cutting exercise. More news is set to be released later on this week.

PEYTON TIPPED FOR FOOTBALL LEAGUE: In Tonight evening news, Boro Boss Steve Burr is tipping, 20-year-old Warren Peyton for the football league. He will follow a host of names which have left the Boro to join league sides. Whether he will follow in Malcolm Christie footsteps or in Andy Ducros footsteps is still unknown.

BORO FINISH ON A HIGH: Boro have finished there pre-season friendlies on a high with a four-nil win away from home at Moor Green.

BURR SIGNS WHITEHALL: Steve Burr has made what is likely to be his final transfer before the start of the season by signing prolific goalscorer Steve Whitehall. He has joined Boro after being released by Chester City.

GRIFF 0-0 BORO: Boro played both fringe first team players and reserve teams players in their frindliey against Nuneaton Griff. Ryan Young saved a penelty in what was reported to be a very dull game.

WRAY JOINS STAFFORD RANGERS: Steve Burr has released Shaun Wray from his contract at Manor Park. The skillful right sided payer cost Boro 3 grand, three seasons ago but were unable to sell the player for a fee, he has joined his former club Stafford Rangers, where he will be reunited with 6 former Nuneaton players.

BORO 1-1 KIDDY: Boro have drawn 1-1 with Kiddy reserves. Marc McGregor was the goal scorer for Boro, he missed a penelty but the keeper was unable to hold onto it and Macca scored the follow up.

UPDATING FROM SPAIN: I am currenlty away on holiday in Spain but have luckily found an internet cafe where i can update my site with the latest news from Manor Park.

BORO ONLINE CLOSED: Boro online will be temporarily close from Friday 3rd of August to Friday the 17th. I will return from my hols the day before the Morecambe game so Boro Online should be up and running by then. When I return I will be publishing a new feature A-Z of the Boro which is now complete and my Conference Directory has also been fully updated.

BACON LOOKS SET TO STAY AT BORO: Carl Bacon, who was reportedly set to join Hinckley after he was released by Boro, but the young right sided player looks set to stay at Nuneaton where he is currently training. Since he was released he re-joined Boro as Burr feared the lack of right sided players would put a dampner on the side . Bacon is yet to agree a contract with anyone but Burr seems confident he will be with the Manor Park club next season.

STAFFORD RANGERS 0-4 BORO: Goals from Simon Weaver, Alex Sykes, Jamie Williams and Richard Leadbeater lead Boro to their first win of the season as they gave Stafford Rangers a good thumping last night away from home. Steve Burr gave England under 18 international Steve Hodgsen a run out. He played the whole of the second half and looked impressive.

BORO HAVE TO SETTLE WITH HODGSON: After Boros ambitious effort to lure former England international Dave Beassant to the club, following the unjury of Chris MacKenzie they have had to settle with young 19 year-old Steve Hodgsen who will travel to Stafford later tonight.

BORO KEEP TO MISS START OF THE SEASON: Boros number one, Chris MacKenzie will miss the start of the Nationwide Conference season due to an ankle injury which he picked up, 10 minutes into their friendly at Crawley. The 29-year-old will certainly miss the remaining friendlies and the opening game at Morecambe but it is still unclear to how long he will be out and whether the ankle injury could re-occur in the future.

CRAWLEY 1-1 BORO: Boro are still without a win after drawing 1-1 away from home at Crawley last night. Warren Peyton took the lead for Boro before Crawley equalised from the spot after Terry Angus conceded a penalty.

18 MEN OFF TO CRAWLEY: A squad of 18 will travel to Crawley tomorrow to take part in a golf and football weekend. During the weekend away, the sides will compete both on the pitch and off, as they plan to take to the golf coarse where there sides will play against each other. Michael Love will make his first appearance of the season after his recent return from holiday. Shaun Wray has not been selected for the game, along with him, Dave Crowley will also miss the occasion due to work commitments.

PEAKE NAMED AS NEW BORO BOSS: Jason Peake, who made his debut in December last year has been named team captain by boss Steve Burr. It is thought Andy Thackeray will continue his role off the playing field as club captain where as 29-year-old Peake will do the business on the pitch.

EASTWOOD TOWN 1-1 BORO: Boro came from one goal down to earn a draw away from home at Eastwood Town last night. Boro conceded an early goal but Richard Lavery, who was later injured, scored an equaliser. His injury is minor but it he will be unable to travel to Crawley on Saturday.

BORO AIM TO PROVE BOOKIES WRONG: Bookmakers Williams Hill rate Boro 66-1 on winning this years conference title. Corals and Ladbrooks give Burrs boys a 50-1 chance. Although this has came as no surprise to the Boro has the lack of cash has meant few tranfers and Burr has not been able to build as strong a squad as he would have liked, Burr seems confident he can prove the bookmakers wrong and make a betre go off it than everyone else thinks.

BACON ON HIS WAY OUT: It was thought earlier on in the year that Carl Bacon was released on a free and was looking like never wearing a Boro shirt again, but he Burr, who then was struggling for right sided players, re-singed the former Leicester youngster. Since then he has been unable to come to contract agreements and looks likely to be on his way out for good soon

BORO 1-3 CAMBRIDGE: Boro have been defeated for the second time in four days by Cambridge Utd. Boro were two nil down when Marc McGregor netted his second goal in two games which wasnt enough as Cvambrindge secured the win 10 minutes from time through Dan Collins.

BORO 2-4 COV CITY: Boro have been beat 4-2 at home two a Coventry City youth/reserve side as the took the filed for the first time this season. A goal each from McGregor and Leadbeater wasnt enough for the home side.

CONFERENCE PLAY OFF OVER RULED: The play off system which was set to come into action this season has been turned down by the FA. The end of season finale would have seen 5 teams battling it out to gain promotion to the football league will no longer stand and the winners of the Nationwide conference will be promoted a normal.

BIG BLOW FOR BURR AND BORO: Boro have missed out on the signing of Rochdale striker Graham Lancaster. The 29-year-old veteran was offered as good terms as possible by Burr but unfortunatly for Boro he had recieved a better offer. Burr is still confident he will make another signing before the season re-starts on August 18th where Boro travel to Morecambe.

BORO SIGN PEYTON: Steve Burr has signed former Bury winger Warren Peyton. The young startlet has signed a two year contract with the option to extend it after that.

BURR LOOKS TO CAPTURE TWO MORE PLAYERS: Boro boss Steve Burr seems confident in capturing another two players before the start of the season, which will be on August 18th. Steve Burr is still awaiting a response from ex-Bury winger Warren Peyton but seems confident the term offered will suit the youngster. He has also targeted a player currently playing in the football league, but wont let on who he is. It is known he is a striker in mid 20s and it is thought he would like to move to manor park.

BORO ON TV-AGAIN: Boro home clash against Conference giants Yeovil Town which will take place on the 1st of September will be televised live on Sky. Boro Boss Burr is delighted, and cant wait for the date. Kick off will be at 12noon to maximise the possible attendance.

HANDS OFF MCGERGOR: Steve Burr has issued a firm warning to Boston Utd who is next on the pilgrims hit list. Boston Boss Evans, who failed to sing Stan Collymore earlier this week, is looking to sing the 23-year-old to strengthen his side in next years bid to reach the play off which lead to the nationwide league, division three.

SIMO DEPARTS: Fans Favourite Wayne Simpson has stepped down a league from the conference into the Dr Marten premier where he will join his former club Hednesford Town where he is likely to see out his career. The 32-year-olds contract expired at the end of this season and Burr was unable to extend his contract and he will be sorely missed next year.

BORO SIGN LAVERY: Boro have signed 24 year old midfielder Richard Lavery from local rivals Hinckley Utd. He was voted player of the season at Hinckley last year and Burr is delighted to have captured the youngster.

BORO CHASE BURY REJECT: Steve Burr is looking to make his second signing of the summer by bringing young Warren Peyton to the club. It is unlikely that he will join Boro has he has been offered may full time contracts but Burr is hopeful and he has offered him a contract and awaits a response.


MURPHY LOOKS TO STAY LOCAL: According to both websites Boro Till I die (www.borotillidie.moonfruit.co.uk) and To The Manor Reborn (www.tothemanorreborn.co.uk) Gez Murphy who was last week released by Telford wishes to join the Boro. He currently works at Coventry City and a coach for teenagers and has told press he would love to play for the Boro as he lives in Nuneaton which is considered a major bonus.

SIMMO CONSIDERS OPTIONS: Wayne Simpson is currently considering his options before deciding whether to retire or to sign a new contract and stay at Manor Park. The popular centre half is a fans favourite and is being urged by fans and manager to agree terms.

MACCA PUTS PEN TO PAPER: Chris MacKenzie has agreed a new deal, which will keep him at Manor Park for another two seasons.

BORO CHASE PRESTON: Boro are supposedly chasing Hinckley Uniteds Nick Preston. The talented young starlet had a great season for the knitters last year and has attracted Burrs attention before.

BURR URGES FANS TO GET BEHIND THE TEAM: Steve Burr has urged that all fans get behind the side despite a poor financial state at the club. He has told press that there will be no major signings ready for next season but is still positive about the future.

BORO FAIL TO CAPTURE BARNES: Despite an attempt of cutting the wage bill down Boro have admitted Barnes will not be playing at Manor Park next season.

BURR SWINGS AXE: Burr has released various first team players from their contracts in order to cut the wage bill down. The 6 players that have been released go by the names of Steve Prinderville, Jon Gittens, Mark Taylor, Delton Francis, Ian King and Carl Bacon.

SIMO OUT OF CONTRACT: Wayne Simpson has been offered a new contract from Steve Burr in an attempt to keep the central defender here next year. It is likely that he will be willing to sing a new contract as his current one is coming to an end.

RUSHDEN UP: Rushden and Diamonds today officially were named Conference champions 2000/01. Brian Talbots side travelled to Chester looking for a point to secure the title won, but in fact come away with all three after a convincing 2-1 win at the Deva Stadium.

WHO ELSE JOINS US: Margate, have won promotion from the Dr Martens and will join us in the conference next season. Farnborough have secured promotion from the Ryman division along with Stalybridge from the Unibond division.

BARNET JOIN US: Barnet have dropped out of the league after loosing 3-2 at home to Torquay. Who ever lost in this crucial battle would go down and it looked certain to Barnet at half time. They trailed 30 but in the second half made a go of it. To the away supporters delight they failed to get a thrid and and now been relegated to the English Conference.

DAVE WANTS TESTERMONIAL: Steve Burr knew Martin ONeil well, when he was manager of Grantham and Wycombe now being at Celtic, Who Dave Crowley supports both Steve and Dave are hoping that Scottish Giants Celtic agree to a testimonial down at Manor Park. Dave Crowley and Barry Williams have come far with the Boro and it is about time the fans show how much Crowley means to them in a testimonial which hopefully will be played against Celtic and the start of next season.

BORO SIGN BROWN: Boro have made a second signing of the week which is likely to be their last of the season. Ben Brown has joined the Boro from St Andrews and Leicestershire side. The 19-year-old Striker is likely to make an appearance this Saturday.

SYKES RETURNS TO FOREST GREEN: Boro midfielder Alex Sykes has rejoined Forest Green Rovers on loan until the end of the season. The former FRG player will return to the Lawn after agreeing terms yesterday, But Burr has admitted his Career at the Boro is not over.

BORO SIGN BARNES: Boro have ended their Striker problems by singing 33-year-old Paul Barnes. The Striker has made 400 league appearances and has scored over 150 goals. He has played for various clubs including, Notts County, Stoke City and York, he then left York City to join Birmingham City in a 350,000 move. Burr seemed delighted to have signed Paul and now that the Morecambe game has been he will make his debut against Kingstonian and will not have to wait and watch which is what he would have had to have done if the Morecambe game was still on.

CONFERENCE ON TV: Sky Sports are to show up to 10 live Nationwide Conference games next season. In what is the biggest TV deal non-league football has ever encountered. If play offs are used next season they will also be screened on Sky TV. It is thought that attendances could drop due to this advantage but most Conference side managers are pleased to see non-league football is being taken seriously.

BORO SIGN PEAKE: Boro have singed Jason Peake on a permanent basis. The ex-Plymouth midfielder joined Boro on loan three months ago, his new contract will take him to the end of the season where he will then decide whether or not to extend it or terminate it.

MACCA DONATED ENGLAND SHIRT: Boros leading goalscorer and record singing Marc Mcgrgeor has donated his England shirt, which he worn in the Semi-pro game against Wales in February to the Mini bus crash appeal.

BORO STIKER STABBED: Boros latest signing Nicky Kennerdale has been stabbed in his home town of Nottingham. The 24-year-old had intervened in an argument in the middle of the street in Notting City centre, he received stab wounds to the head hand and chest.


EX-BORO BOSS GETS NEW JOB: Brendan Phillips has been appionted Halesowen Boss. The struggling Dr Martens premier division side Alan Moore with Boros old boss Phillips.

BREWNO NOT HAPPY: As you have probably noticed now that Brewnos outfit has worn a little, for next season Brewno has ordered him self a new bears out fit, in the week he paid Clayton a visit to tell him how much his new costume would cost, but the Boro chairman was not interested and has told the bear to find the funds another way and not through the club.

CHIPPY TO FACE OLD TEAM: At the end of last Season Lee Charles left Hayes and joined theh Boro he didnt make an instant impact but has fount hit feet and hopes to find the net tomorrow against his old side at Manor Park (3pm).

PRINDERS MIGHT MAKE COME BACK: Steve Prinderville has been out in the cold for many months now, after our shock dismissal from the FA Trophy against Guiseley, the 32-year-old has not had a disagreement with Phillips was told he will never play for Boro again. When Brendan was sacked Prinders went out on loan to Solihull he came back to the Boro with a difference attitude and was certain he would forced his way back into team. He is yet to do this but with Boro set to play 3 game sin the next 7 days Burr has told press the ex-Kiddy player could well be getting a call up.

PEAKE NOT QUITE HERE: Despite reports about Peake making a permanent move to Manor Park, the deal is far from sealed. The 29-year-old has helped the Boro immensely and it would be great for Boro to get his aboard the Barmy Army.

BORO BOSS WISHES DREWIT GOOD LUCK: Former Boro star Ian Drewitt has been appointed Bedworth player-manager, the Welshman has been wished luck by Boro boss Burr who used to play with the striker at Manor park.

Out of favour Delton Francis snatched a goal for the reserves last night in a one victory at Manor Park. Young, Prinders, Thacks, Angus, Wray Crowley, Kennerdale and Francis all started in an eventful Central Conference game.

GITTENS WINS BATTLE: Jon Gittens has won an on going battle with the Boro board after he was fined for not turning up for training. He has won the case and the docking of his wages are to be handed back to them, Boro are not to appeal to the PFA as the n loan defender is not worth the hassle.

GROUND SHARE POSSIBILTITY: After having the most recent ground appeal turned down Boro are looking at buying ground on Liberty Way next to where the Nuns rugby side currently play. Boro have been told the site is perfect for there 4.20 million pound plans.

CHIPY AND KING BATTLING FOR FITNESS: Boros Lee Charles and Ian King have paid visits to the treatment table this week and Boss Burr hope that both first team players will be fit for the clash this weekend against Hayes.

BORO SIGN PEAKE: Despite tough competition Boro have managed to get the signature of Jason Peake who has been on loan to the Boro for some time. The 29-year-old was unable to get into Plymouths first tem and looked else were for first team football, thankfully for the Boro he was more than welcome to join our Conference side.

BORO SIGN KENNERDALE: The Official Boros supporters club all chipped in so that they could keep young Nicky Kennerdale at the club. With Boro in no financial position to buy the 24 year old them selves they have the members of their loyal supporters club to thank for keeping him here.

BOROS FUTURE IN LAWYERS HANDS:: A report in the NLP Paper suggests that Boros future now lies in the hands of Lawyers. Boro collected over 1000 signatures backing the move but objections from Councillors , officials on ground noise and official protesting that the ground was enough for the bid to be rejected. Clayton is know looking for advice from a range of people and advisors.
